City and County of San Francisco Systems Support Analyst - HR Modernization Program - Dept. of Human Resources (1052) in San Francisco, California

The Human Resources Modernization Program is a team nested within the City's Department of Human Resources, tasked with reimagining how the City hires and retains its 35,000+ employees. The team consists of four pods working in collaboration to bring new HR business processes, systems, tools, and analytics to the existing human resources framework in an effort to create a transformative employee experience.  

The Business Transformation and Support team supports our internal system users with thoughtful content, communication, training, and system support to accompany the HR tech, tools, and processes that are continually being introduced by the HR Modernization Program. 

Troubleshooting, strategizing, and solutioning are skills that you will put to use every day. The Systems Support Analyst will take a key role in the development and growth of an all-around support program, elevating and driving adoption of our suite of people technologies.

On typical day, you may:

  • Receive and review requests for support that come in via support tickets, emails, or other channels. Many users seek support from a business perspective, making the ability to speak and understand both business and technical requests critical  

  • Triage and prioritize requests based on impact and other factors  

  • Analyze support request trends, identifying areas for improvement of end user experience, system bugs, and evolving usage trends  

  • Contribute to efforts to develop a systematic approach to support processes and outcomes  

  • Participating in organizational change management efforts to identify training and knowledge gaps, support upskilling efforts, and develop job aids

An associate degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, economics, finance, computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in one of the fields above or a closely-related field]. 

AND 

One (1) year in the information systems field, including technical support, content management, administration of network applications or system analysis. 

Substitution: 

Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in one of the fields above or a closely related field. 

Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with data and trend analysis 

  • Comfortable having a technical discussion with a broad variety of audiences 

  • Ability to define and communicate systems in business-relevant language 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to communicate technical system concepts to non-technical people

Compensation

Entry compensation for this role is between $108,056 - $135,928, dependent on education and experience.

Hybrid work culture 

We work in a hybrid environment, and you may be expected to work in the office up to 2-3 days per week. In-office workdays are flexible, and can be tailored to fit your needs as well as the needs of the role. 

Exempt employment 

This role is exempt from the San Francisco Civil Service Rules, and employment is at the discretion of the appointing officer for a period of not-to-exceed three years. (Category 18)
