About the Role:

About the Team:

The AV Cloud team is building technology solutions for autonomous driving.

Key Work/Projects

1. Driving dataset: To accelerate the path to L4 autonomy by designing and building AV 2.0 technology, we work on sensor data collection, processing, labeling, indexing and search to build comprehensive driving scenarios.

2. AI systems: Building AI systems to extract the maximum value out of Uber's worldwide operations, such as perception modeling and semantic understanding.

Minimum qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field AND 2-years full-time Software Engineering work experience OR 5-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 3-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)

• Note the 3-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.

Technical skills:

Required:

• At least 3 years of Autonomous Vehicles industry experience with deep domain expertise in perception.

• Proficient in Python and Linux

• Familiar with OpenCV, TensorFlow/PyTorch

Preferred:

1. Master or PhD degree in computer vision or robotics.

2. Familiar with C+3. Familiar with the Robot Operating System

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$223,000 per year - USD$248,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
