About the Role - In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function for a non-profit organization, ensuring all operations comply with applicable accounting standards.

Responsibilities -

• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports

• Maintain and reconcile ledger accounts

• Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

• Monitor operating cash balance and prepare bi-weekly cash forecasts

• Assist in the preparation of grant budgets and funder reports

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies

• Oversee regulatory report submissions

• Manage record retention

• Contribute to various other tasks and projects as required

Qualifications -

• Minimum three years of accounting experience in a not-for-profit organization

• A degree in accounting, finance, or business administration

Pay range and compensation package - $70-80K +benefits

Requirements

Required Skills -

• High level of competence with Excel

• Experience with QuickBooks preferred

• Exceptional communication skills

• Proven ability to think critically, identify variances and discrepancies

• Highly detail-oriented and organized

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team

• Experience in federal or state grant management is a plus
