AxIOM is seeking an experienced Snr. Technical Program Manager to help us create the world’s best mobile shopping experience. AxIOM stands for App-first eXperiences that are Innovative and immersive On Modern Devices. Our charter is to push the boundaries of what great app experiences can look like for Amazon's shopping app, inspiring other teams to optimize and reinvent their own app experiences.

As a Snr. Technical Program Manager on the AxIOM team, you will have the opportunity to deliver new end-to-end customer experiences that bring the latest shopping innovations to our mobile apps. We are focused on creating experiences that are fluid, fast, and highly adaptive - delivering a clear differentiator from other Amazon platforms.

The ideal candidate loves inventing on behalf of customers and collaborating with creators of many disciplines to deliver experiences which are loved by millions of people. They know how to improve the quality and speed of delivery by gathering high-quality requirements, driving toward the right architectural outcomes, and by identifying, tracking, and communicating the path to delivery within and across the organization. Always looking for ways to improve, they identify and create mechanisms that will help raise the bar.

This role will require you to anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance customer and business needs against technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this position.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of experiences on the Amazon Mobile App, inventing and delivering delightful shopping experiences.


  • You will work with our engineering, product and QA teams to make sure we are architecting, planning, and on track to deliver high quality customer experiences and high-quality releases, making scalable long-term technical decisions while meeting our commitments.


  • Coordinate and plan across multiple teams, finding technical solutions which span backend and client applications.


  • Identify gaps in our software development lifecycle and lead process improvements so we can deliver more to our customers and have fun doing it. 


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
