Sr. Software Engineer - Full Stack

Country/Region: US

State: CA

City: San Francisco

Job ID: 37421

Category: Information Technology

Stratasys is a world leader in 3D printing, and recently added the Origin line of DLP printers to their product offering.

The Origin One printer was designed from the ground up with high volume production manufacturing in mind. These are not desktop 3D printers for hobbyists, but commercial-grade 3D printers being used by manufacturers to create end-use parts. Building 3D printers for manufacturing requires much higher quality, reliability, repeatability, and uptime than printers designed for one-shot prototypes.

Our printers are all connected IoT devices and we run a modern web technology stack (Typescript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, Postgres) for the printer UI, and web app for managing printers and print jobs. Our global fleet of printers is growing, and we need to grow our team to match.

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack) to grow the feature set of our additive manufacturing platform and bring about the factories of the future. As software underpins every aspect of our product, our software engineers need to work seamlessly with experts from other fields while learning key aspects of our 3D printing technology.

  • Develop software for Origin's additive manufacturing platform across the entire stack, from web development and cloud-based data processing to firmware controlling our printer's electro-mechanical components and print process

  • Drive the software development process, including design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and deployment

  • Work with our manufacturing team to automate their processes

  • Maintain a healthy, productive engineering culture: champion high standards of code quality and participate in recruitment to build a world class software engineering team

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relative work experiences in lieu of degree

  • 5+ years combined experience developing across a web stack, including frontend, backend, client/server interaction, databases, and CI/CD infrastructure

  • 5+ years of experience coding in one of the following languages: Javascript, Python, Ruby, or Go

  • Interest or passion for 3D printing, embedded software engineering, or robotics

  • Familiarity with visualization tools, video streaming and/or image processing pipelines

  • Past experience with at least one industry standard frontend JS framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue)

  • Experience with GraphQL and Node.js

  • Experience with 3D rendering technology such as WebGL and three.js

  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools

  • Passion to do whatever it takes to independently solve complex problems

  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
