PhD degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, other quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience in one of the following languages: Python, C/C++, or Java
2 years of experience in statistical machine learning models, algorithms, and data analysis
2 years of experience in exploring and manipulating scale structured/unstructured data
Knowledge in behavior science and/or behavioral economics
Excellent data analysis, visualization, rapid prototyping, and validation skills

As a Research Scientist, you will design, implement, and analyze behavior change interventions to help innovate what devices and mobile can do to help users live healthier lives. In particular, you will explore Fitbit Health Behavior and Signals Data and identify behavior change interventions that are data and machine learning (ML) driven and informed by behavior science.
In this role, you will initiate and lead research studies and coordinate with Clinical and Product teams. You will also explore data, formulate ML problems, and build robust models. You'll also create compelling visualizations, design properly controlled experiments, and run analyses. Additionally, you will document your work, present work to various stakeholders and at conferences, and publish your findings in scientific journals.

Build machine learning algorithms for intervention.
Partner with cross-disciplinary teams to prototype interventions that feature ML algorithms and run experiments. Analyze efficacy of these interventions.
Communicate complex scientific concepts and results to a variety of audiences in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
Follow up on the latest in health behavior, cardiovascular, metabolic, mental, and sleep health literature.
