Insight Global Junior Technical Program Manager in San Francisco, California

Job Description

Day-to-Day:

The Banking Technology Solutions (BTS) group within the Banking operating unit at Moody's is looking to hire an intelligent, eager-to-learn, analytically-minded individual to grow and develop into a Technical Program Manager on their team. The Moody's Banking OU serves the Banking segment which includes primarily banks (but also some insurance companies and corporations with large finance arms) by providing software that delivers actionable insights using proprietary data and industry expertise. This group has SaaS software solutions that help banks price loans, do loan portfolio monitoring/alerting, credit risk calculations, calculate how much capital they need to reserve, develop compliant reports for regulators, etc. BTS creates shared services that are used by all of the Banking OU's software products (SSO, unified data, integrated platform, integrated analytics, and other shared components). This person needs to be able to learn and understand complex concepts and communicate them in a way that other internal stakeholders can understand.

The ideal candidate has a BS or higher in an applied analytics field (ideally related to quantitative finance), professional experience working in an agile environment/working knowledge of agile software development, understanding of financial data including loans/allowance/financial statements/credit risk, and a desire to learn and grow into a Technical Program Manager on this team. This person needs to thrive even under pressure, be hyper-focused on delivering exceptional results, be passionate about being a part of leading-edge projects, and be motivated by delivering world-class products with great architecture on an aggressive schedule.

Skills and Requirements

* BS or higher in Financial Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Economics, or related analytical discipline

* 3+ years of relevant professional experience ideally working on data-heavy financial products

* Understanding of financial concepts including loans, allowance, financial statements, and credit risk

* High-level proficiency in SQL and Advanced Excel (lookups, pivot tables, macros)

* Strong foundation in mathematics and high-level proficiency in statistical programming using Python or R

* Working knowledge of machine learning concepts and data visualization

* Strong analytical/quantitative skills and the ability to translate analysis into actionable tasks

* Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and assist the team to resolve complex issues

* Self-starter with an innovative solutions-oriented mindset and can-do attitude

* Ability to learn quickly and work independently and collaboratively

* Detail-oriented disposition with clear, concise communication skills

* Aligns with Moody's culture: passionate, intelligent, growth mindset, eager-to-learn, humble * Advanced degree (MS or higher) in a complex analytical field such as Financial Analytics

* Professional experience working in a fast-paced agile environment

* Familiarity with BI technologies null
