Amazon Principal Technical Program Manager, ART19 in San Francisco, California

Description

We are seeking an exceptional Principal Technical Program Manager to join ART19. You will be responsible for identifying, scoping, and delivering end to end projects, driving the successful execution of ART19’s roadmap. You will apply both business and technical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and innovative environment, partnering with teams like Wondery, Amazon Ads, and more. You thrive through building consensus and driving teams towards results, anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces to deliver them in a successful and timely manner is key. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own successful delivery of large, high impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously and accurately tracking a set of smaller projects

  • Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop program plans that include roadmaps, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans

  • Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and help engineering efforts meet aggressive timelines

  • Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on plans, status, and critical issues

  • Partner as a technical liaison between product and engineering teams

In addition to offering best-in-class podcast hosting and we also power ad products that enable a growing targeted ad marketplace across a pool of more than 1,000 podcasts that includes shows such as "How I Built This", "Morbid," and "Smartless", from major podcast networks like Wondery, CBS News, and NBC Universal.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Experience managing projects across multiple engineering teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating go-to-market releases.

  • Prior experience working on scalable web applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
