Amazon Finance Manager, AWS Public Sector Sales Finance in San Francisco, California

In this role, you’ll be at the center of driving AWS’s sales strategy, partnering directly with the US Federal, Global Healthcare, Nonprofit and Partner organization to manage, optimize, and transform the investment portfolio. You’ll collaborate with senior Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Finance leaders to build financial plans, analyze large-scale investment opportunities, develop new go-to-market strategies, and identify opportunities for business growth. You will play key roles in both running the day-to-day business and helping drive strategic growth for the future.

Key job responsibilities
• Serve as a key finance partner to the US Federal, Global Healthcare and Nonprofit, and Partner teams, collaborating across executive leadership to analyze inputs and outputs, assess business performance, and optimize asset allocation.
• Develop and evolve complex financial models that analyze program- and portfolio-level revenue, profit, and ROI impacts.
• Build rhythm of the business processes that deliver ongoing insights and support day-to-day decision making.
• Engage and influence across the AWS Sales, Finance, and Operations hierarchy, collaborating with stakeholders to optimize our customer’s experience, achieve common goals, and monitor risks.
• Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes and controls as needed to support internal and external financial reporting requirements.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
