Director of Enterprise CRM Engineering and Technical Operations

Fastly Business Systems team is looking for a Director of Enterprise CRM Engineering and Technical Operations. This role will support the Go-to-Market organizations of Sales, Marketing, Client Services and Back Office functions that support these organizations.. The Director, integrates strategic thinking, problem-solving skills and cross-functional collaboration to execute on the Go-to-Market strategy. With expertise in the Salesforce platform and familiarity with related systems such as Workato, Clari, Xactly, and Marketo, the Director, will serve as the cornerstone for transforming our strategies through innovative technology solutions that scale.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with SMEs, senior leaders and business users/stakeholders to understand the Go-to-Market organizations goals and ensure that project outcomes effectively meet strategic objectives

  • Works on complex issues where problems are not clearly defined and where fundamental principles do not fully apply

  • Interacts with senior management and executives which frequently involves negotiating matters of significance to the organization. Reconciles multiple stakeholder views to drive business results

  • Lead a team of Developers, Quality Assurance, and Systems Administrators to examine the current state and effectiveness across the Go-to-Market processes and implement solutions to automate and improve efficiency through introducing new and enhance existing technology solutions

  • Be responsible for understanding the entire architecture that supports the business motions for Go-to-Market personas; Account Executives, SDRs, Partners, Account Managers, Support, Marketing and Back Office Operations and makes final decisions on technical designs.

  • Manage a team of Individual Contributors and Managers that are the subject matter experts on various technology platforms

  • Work with your team to coach, guide and direct the translation of Business Requirements into Technical Solution Design documents, socialize and gain formal approvals

  • Own Development, Quality Assurance and Operations Centers of Excellence; create Charters to define and document the overall objectives, resources and constraints

  • Lead the Co-creation, enablement, publishing and adherence to the following templates; Architectural Diagram, Technical Design Document, and Definition of Done

  • Expert in implementing and operationalizing CI/CD pipelines to streamline and accelerate software development/deployment.

  • Well versed in Environment Management and Incident Response best practices.

  • Support the collaboration with Business Operations, Analytics and other technology teams to build a cohesive and unified view of Go-to-Market data, always considering upstream and downstream impacts

  • Partner with the Go-to-Market Product Management function and Product Program Managers to establish timelines and ensure delivery of projects and requests

  • Identify time-consuming internal processes within your Area of Responsibility and build reliable and scalable solutions to automate them

  • Manage fast-changing priorities in a dynamic environment to deliver the most impactful solutions to business stakeholders

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management information systems, computer science, or related field

  • 12+ years experience as a Business Systems Architecture, Development and Operations in the Go-To-Market domain

  • 5+ years managing a team of varied levels of architects, developers, QA and administrators

  • Experience with implementation of complex business process transformation, preferably in a high-growth enterprise SaaS environment

  • Be seasoned at SDLC best practices, operational efficiencies, and be able to clearly articulate strategies and work with the development teams to communicate and develop solutions

  • Marketing, Sales, Customer Support technology stack experience for automation, analytics and intelligence processes

  • Experience in process and system development in the following tools: Salesforce, Salesforce CPQ, Workato, and Slack Apps

  • Experience in various methodologies for planning and executing application development, enhancement and support

  • Self-motivated, creative person with analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities

  • Advanced understanding of database and integration approaches

  • Be able to write medium complexity SQL queries

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

  • The following certifications: Salesforce Technical Architecture, Salesforce Application Architecture, Scrum Master or PMP

  • Xactly, BigQuery, Marketo, and Jira

Work Hours:

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours as well as an on call rotation.

This position is open to the following preferred office locations:

  • New York, New York

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $246,550 to $308,180.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
