Sutter Health Director, Applications (Product & Application focus) in San Francisco, California

Position Overview:

Is accountable for the direction of the full systems development lifecycle management of enterprise applications for both support services and implementations adhering to enterprise data and process standards. Directs the ongoing support and services of the software, environments, and processes required to ensure data quality and integrity. Monitors the functionality of the software and its use throughout Sutter Health and its affiliates with particular emphasis on evolving best practices for distribution across affiliates.

Candidate should have experience building programs or products with extensive product and project management experience. Ability to understand technical terms balanced with executive-level presentation skills will be critical for success in this role.

This position will be required to be onsite regularly for clinic operations oversight, personnel management, and strategic planning sessions.

Travel will be required to attend industry events, sales meetings, and conferences.

Job Description :

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 12 years recent relevant experience.

  • Project and Product management preferred

  • Experience building, managing and scaling large teams

  • Operations leadership experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Expert technical and business knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), quality assurance, and project management.

  • Expert knowledge of specifying user requirements.

  • Expert knowledge of healthcare operations and structure.

  • Expert understanding of hospital inpatient and clinic outpatient operations.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, IS team members, management, and executive personnel/staff.

  • Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

  • Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships resulting in the formulation of logical and objective conclusions

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams committed to carrying out initiatives in environments that may be resistant to change.

  • Make presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action, or to provide information and instruction.

Pay Range is $94.32 to $150.90 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
