As an Associate Director within our network contracting team, you'll guide the development and support of provider networks as well as unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis and reporting. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guide development of geographically competitive, broad access, stable networks including medical groups/IPAs, hospitals and ancillary providers that achieve objectives for unit cost performance and trend management

  • Develop functional, market level and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities

  • Apply network configuration and incentive-based payment models as appropriate to improve quality and efficiency

  • Identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational problems

  • Direct work that impacts entire functions and/or customer accounts (internal or external)

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of supervisory level experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results while demonstrating solid team leadership

  • 5+ years of experience with provider contracting including assessing contract language changes and managing provider relationships

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and utilizing financial modeling in making rate and strategic decisions

  • 2+ years of experience managing a medical cost and administrative budget

  • Expert level of knowledge of Hospital and Medical Group contracting including Capitated and fee-for-service Commercial and Medicare arrangements, Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS), DRGs, Ambulatory Surgery Center Groupers, etc.

  • Able to attend in-person meetings as needed

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $122,100 to $234,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
