Key responsibilities

  • Develop all weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Understand pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and make sure amounts/deductions are precisely applied to various earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws

  • Manage pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures, as well as troubleshoot anomalies

  • Do analysis on payroll

  • Recruit and retain a team and lead it to success

  • Provide internal safeguards by overseeing record keeping and control systems

  • Keep an eye on audits, internal and external

  • Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis

  • Support payroll staff and operations

  • Set and meet goals with other members of senior Finance leadership team

  • Provide information to senior executives and cross-functional business leaders and answer questions

  • Review and improve current processes by suggesting, leading, and working on projects

    Requirements

  • Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well

  • For this job to be performed successfully, the candidate needs to have strong interpersonal skills

  • We strongly prefer candidates with sound knowledge of payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions

  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred

  • Solid understanding of HRIS Payroll System

  • Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification supported ( preferred)

  • Proficiency in a wide array of payroll applications
