Job Description:

Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of Tomahawk Strike Manager (TSM) Capabilities and Limitations to the officer level. Reviews and analyzes Tomahawk Strike Manager (TSM) Capabilities and Limitations and Naval Operational and Tactical doctrine and integrates and conceptualizes the execution of Doctrine optimizing the application of ship's Combat Systems capabilities and limitation in the dynamic operational tactical environment. Conducts dynamic assessment of the sailors’ abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency. Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135. Prepares; reviews; and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching. Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement. Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report. Tomahawk Strike Manager (TSM) training programs and related materials in support of course objectives. Establishes and reviews course content and objectives. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities. Maintains records of training activities; participant progress; and program effectiveness. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Primary responsibilities: Develops and conducts training and educational programs for Sailors in support of Surface Combat Systems Training Command San Diego in San Diego, CA. Training program requires ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction on the operational employment of the Tomahawk Strike Weapon System and supporting lab training. Develop, Organize and Disseminate, Naval Surface Tomahawk training for foreign military sailors assigned to Tomahawk Equipped Surface Combatants.  Prepare, review and customize curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides in support of traditional classroom teaching.  Document the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas /watch stations. Responsible for the generation of formal assessments measuring the success of training, via written report. Coordinate the development and delivery of complex training programs and related materials in support of customer training objectives. Periodically review course content and objectives. Conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and applicable references as assigned. Update course documentation on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications:

Eight (8) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician manager or operator manager with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a master level training environment. Experience as a qualified watch stander with relevant shipboard experience with Tomahawk Strike Manager (TSM). Of the eight (8) years, two (2) years of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems including one (1) year relevant experience interfacing with training systems/simulations for effective and correct presentation of learning objectives. Graduate of the A-121-0017 Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System Watch Officer, A-2G-0017 COP ADV, K-121-01801, CINK-221-0165, TTWS-E C4I SYS Engineering and K-2G-0127 OTH-T-C4I with Prior instructor duty with NEC 805A/9502 highly desired

Experience as a qualified Tomahawk Strike Manager (TSM) and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.

Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.

Travel may be required up to 10% of time.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
