Job Description:

The UPS Store Inc., a subsidiary of UPS, is the world’s largest franchisor of retail shipping, postal, printing, and business service centers. The Learning and Development Intern is responsible for coordinating and managing training logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, supplies, and materials for in-person and virtual training classes. Supports the administration and maintenance of the learning management system. Tracks learning activities, trends, and generates reports. Provides ongoing support to training facilitators. Additional responsibilities may also include the development and communication of new training materials. Applies knowledge of established processes and procedures to execute with excellence.

Hourly PAY: $25 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting in-person classes and instructors.

  • Administering class registrations, rosters, communication.

  • Uploading and maintaining documentation in the Learning Management System.

  • Completing data entries into various systems.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Current graduate student in Learning Development, Human Development, Business Administration, Human Resources, or Communications with some experience in the training field.

  • Must have strong administration or coordinator experience using Excel, completing data entry, and/or coordinating scheduling.

Language Skills:

  • Must have excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment and to represent the Training & Development group in a professional manner with our internal customers.

  • Must have the ability to present technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to demonstrate their flexibility in times of change to relate successfully to our internal customers and franchisees with diverse backgrounds and experience.

  • Must demonstrate superior organizational skills.

  • Must be proactive and able to work independently, prioritizing work effectively and seeing projects to completion.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Adobe, as well as have the ability to adapt and learn new software and applications quickly.

  • Must be proficient grasping complex processes.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

  • Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions.

  • Must be currently located in San Diego, CA or willing to relocate yourself prior to beginning of internship period.

  • Must be a rising college junior or senior, or recent graduate within the last 24 months.

  • Must be able to professionally communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences, on a variety of different platforms.

  • Must be able to work in-person at The UPS Store, Inc., headquarters.
