Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years of industry experience with high-volume, precision assembly manufacturing with knowledge of process design/ controls / automation, and capability to drive and deliver results within a fast-paced environment is a must

  • Technical skills and deep understanding of end-to-end, small form factor assembly manufacturing processes, from SMT, assembly to testing, and pack-out

  • Exposure to scaling/ bringing up high volume production lines

  • Detailed understanding of manufacturing process design, DFX, ramp/capacity planning, line balancing, material handling

  • Proficient in yield loss/failure analysis, problem solving with critical thinking, and effective with quality methodologies and statistical analysis approach, such as MSA, CPK, DOE, PFMEA, commonality check, etc.

  • Data-driven, understanding data collection techniques, able to elaborate issues and convey potential solutions to multi-functional teams with data

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills: ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, external CMs, and vendors is key

  • Strong project management skills in a matrixed organization is preferred

  • Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to drive closure of issues across different teams, internal/external organizations, and different cultures

  • Able and willing to travel internationally

Description

In this highly visible Technical Program Management role, we are the operations technical authority in manufacturing process, labor planning, production yields, UPH & EFF and overall factory readiness throughout NPI and mass production processes. We are the technical liaison working in conjunction with engineering and manufacturing operations, as well as other multi-functional teams including Supplier Quality, Test, Supply Chain, and external Vendors and Contract Manufacturers (CM) to ensure top quality products and drive perfection into what we do. If striving for excellence motivates you, we invite you to join us on this journey! •Provide total ownership of the line and equipment readiness, yield, efficiency to ramp volume •Drive lessons learned, provide DFX feedbacks into designs and use predictive methods to anticipate and avoid ramp issue early in development cycle •Maintain open major issue list, drive failure analysis & corrective actions, and work towards closure prior to mass production start •Provide leadership and drive yield during NPI programs ramp; operational excellence expectations with CMs through direct interaction, continuous communication, and continuous improvement efforts •Understand bottom-up approach for manufacturing cost calculation, and cost savings initiative from operations perspective •Drive continuous improvement activities with CMs for any sustaining programs •Manage CM performance through objective measurement systems as well as audits and on line verification; implement communication plan, providing summary and corrective action plans throughout lifecycle of products •Executive-level status reports on a weekly cadence, call out key concerns and options for resolutions to senior management

Education & Experience

BS or MS in related Engineering discipline

Additional Requirements

  • •Working experiences in camera/optical sensor, LIDAR module, semiconductor and consumer electronics manufacturing industry

  • •Direct experiences with precision assembly, dispensing, bonding, and/or clean room practices

  • •Experience in product, process, and manufacturing integration design

  • •Experience with managing global CMs

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $108,400.00 and $162,800.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
