The Sr. Manager, Revenue Recognition position is responsible for managing the revenues for one of the key Product Platforms for BD's Medication Management Solutions Business Unit (MMS) for its US Region. The position will report to Associate Director of Revenue Recognition, MMS and will be a leading a team of nine associates. This role oversees the revenue recognition for the Platform's Products under ASC 606 and ASC 842, additionally the accounting for operating lease assets, and bad debt expenses. The role will collaborate closely with Commercial Operations, FP&A teams, Operations Finance team and other cross functional teams in an advisory role as it relates to revenue recognition for any new marketing programs, product initiatives and other ad-hoc projects to drive the business.

This role is hybrid providing flexibility to work 3 days on site in San Diego and 2 days remote on a weekly basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes for the Revenue Recognition team of the Product Platform to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and ASC 842

  • Ensure SOX compliance for revenue areas by adhering to internal control requirements and maintaining updated documentation, including risk assessment, as the control environment evolves.

  • Provide support and/or manage internal and external audit work, including maintenance and updating of internal controls, operational effectiveness testing, financial audits, etc.

  • Develop, recommend, and/or drive innovative process improvements that leverage technology to maximize overall efficiency while maintaining or strengthening internal controls.

  • Collaborate with OTC, Commercial, FP&A, Legal, and other internal teams on key strategic areas, including contract reviews, deal model review to provide revenue policy guidance and decision-making support.

  • As the Company introduces new products, lead the design, development, and change management related to revenue accounting.

  • Coaching and mentoring the team to continue developing talent and support career planning.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of GAAP, specifically ASC 606; knowledge of ASC 842 is a plus.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills; demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and grow a high functioning team.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-stakes environment.

  • Experience with SAP ERP system preferred.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA certification required

  • 8+ years of relevant progressive accounting experience preferred with Big 4 or other public accounting experience being a plus

  • Strong system/application skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Salary Range Information

$133,800.00 - $220,800.00
