SAIC is seeking an Electrical Engineer Senior Principal to support the US Navy in San Diego, CA .

Note : This position is on-site is located at our customer site: Top Side NIWC Pac (Point Loma). This position has 25% travel to attend customer meetings (CO, MT, DC or international trip to the UK).

JOB DESCRIPTION : SAIC provides engineering expertise to support, maintain, develop, and test existing and new communications systems for NIWC PAC. This position will provide support for multiple systems providing research, design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components.

The candidate will have a strong background in system and hardware engineering support, preferably with DoD Development programs, and possess a strong problem-solving skill. Qualified candidates will have some Waveform experience and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Understanding of Mode and Waveform development.

• Experience with embedded hardware design, FPGA, and RF communications systems.

• Experience in analog, digital, and signal processing design skills including VLF/LF, analog signal conditioning, analog filter design, digital filter design, digital signal processing, and analog and digital ground isolation.

• Experience with the testing, configuration and documentation of Software Systems and hardware systems.

• Work in conjunction with Software Developers to develop and implement test procedures and scenarios for new and updated systems.

• Participate in resolving technical issues and troubleshoot the system that may arise during integration, implementation, and test.

• Provide technical direction, guidance, and training to less experienced staff.

• Interface with management, customers, and team regularly.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :

• B.S.E.E, B.S. in related engineering field, or a B.S. in a related science or mathematics field and fourteen (14) years’ experience; OR master’s and twelve (12) years’ experience.

• DoD IAT 1 certified eligible.

• Security+ (able to obtain within 6 months of hire).

• Experience with development and engineering of RF Communications systems.

• Experience with VLF Communications, waveforms, and transmission modes.

• Experience with VLF communications hardware.

• Candidate must be a US Citizen.

• Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE :

• DoD Background with VLF Communications.

• Preferred experience with, all or some, Pascal, C, C++ and C#.

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
