BAE Systems Senior Contract Administrator in San Diego, California

Job Description

BAE Systems San Diego Repair is seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to join an exciting, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment in its Platforms and Services business unit. This is a senior administrative position that will play an integral role in the successful execution of complex, high profile defense programs. As the potential Senior Contract Administrator you will perform overall (cradle-to-grave) contracts management of assigned contracts and subcontracts, review request for proposals, prepare summary of review noting areas of risk for proposal management, perform contract negotiation, prepare Request for Equitable Adjustments, Prepare and Support DCAA audits, track Change Management efforts and interact with internal and external customers at all levels of company and Government. Candidate must be able to readily adapt and thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare responses for Requests for Equitable Adjustments, Claims, Notice of Changes, Letters of Concern.

  • Prepare contractual positions establishing entitlement and quantum.

  • Train multiple internal groups on document control and record retention.

  • Review and make recommendations regarding resolution of issues relating to company performance in conformance to original proposal and all terms and conditions of the contract.

  • Prepare and disseminate information throughout the company regarding contract status, compliance, modifications, deviation, negotiation, completion and termination.

  • Prepare special reports and analysis as required. Maintain contract document system in accordance with company requirements.

  • Complete weekly status report(s), as required.

  • Assist in the coordination and development of RFP responses.

  • Assist internal departments (e.g., Operations, Finance) with interpreting contract language and verifying contract terms are entered accurately into appropriate business system.

  • Assist in or lead contract negotiations as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to initiate Contract Close Out process to ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal is completed. Work with Compliance to ensure Task Order and Contract Release of Claims are current and accurate prior to execution.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to correctly prioritize workload IAW schedules, proposal due dates, deadlines, submittals, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to work on site every day.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree and 4 years of experience or equivalent experience

  • 4 or more years experience in the field of Contract Management and or 4 or more years experience in the ship repair industry and the knowledge of estimating

  • Full knowledge of industry best practices in the acquisition and/or execution of services and supplies for federal and commercial contracts

  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAR/DFARS

  • Experience with one of the following: IDIQ - Delivery/Task Orders, Contract Types: FFP, FFP LOETC, CPFF, T&M, etc., and Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA)

  • Experience in effecting Change Management

  • Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Knowledge of the marine industry and requirements of ship-work on US Navy, MSC, MARAD and agent managed vessels is preferred but not required.

  • Security Clearance is preferred but not required.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $78760 - $133870

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
