Intuit Senior Business Systems Analyst in San Diego, California

Overview

Come join the Accounting Organization as a Senior Business Systems Analyst. The position is located in San Diego, CA. The person will be responsible for applying revenue recognition principles through the performance of revenue accounting and management of revenue and related billing systems, while also charged with gaining efficiencies and work product improvements that address financial risk and support business growth.

This position will require strong cross-functional skills, revenue accounting application and the ability to understand the end-to-end system design for all revenue offers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting with minimum of 5 years’ experience; CPA/MBA highly desirable; equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Seibel/BRM, Revstream and Qliksense a plus

  • Strong PC, worksheet and word processing skills. Working knowledge of Oracle R12, Revstream and Siebel/BRM.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally to resolve.

How you will lead

  • Responsible for applying, enforcing, and executing the Company's revenue recognition policy as it relates to the performance of revenue accounting.

  • Understand the end-to-end operational, financial, and systemic environment and key upstream and downstream processes that drive financial impacts.

  • Applies professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying accounting principles and systems that support revenue recognition.

  • Able to clearly articulate results, variances and demonstrate an understanding of root cause to management.

  • Work closely with business unit partners, revenue recognition leads, tech partners, and internal/external auditors on accounting matters relating to revenue accounting and systems.

  • Comfortable working with cross functional team to understand company offerings and implement accounting models that properly recognize revenue according to accounting principles and company policy.

  • Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient & accurate recording and proper classification of revenue.

  • Participate in systems upgrades and enhancements as necessary.

  • Stay current on evolving Accounting Standards pronouncements and updates under prevailing regulatory bodies (FASB, SEC), incorporating into current Company policy as necessary.

  • Participate in the month- and quarter- end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department.

  • Maintain systemic deferred revenue account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met.

  • Establish controls necessary to ensure that accounting systems, deferred revenue balances and revenue accounting execution are compliant with Intuit company policy and GAAP.

  • Prepare and maintain reports / schedules for senior management, prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
