Tactical Engineering & Analysis, INC RF Network Design Specialist in San Diego, California

Overview

We are currently seeking a RF Network Design Specialist to supportthe Navy Network Design Facility in generating, maintaining and publishing new and existing network to be used worldwide in different AORs.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in RF Network Designs and/or knowledge of the associated DoD policies, procedures and processes required for proper implementation of RF Network designs.

  • Maintain networks by researching and resolving problems; maintaining network integrity and security accreditation requirements.

  • Identify project requirements by coordination with customers; analyzing operations; determining project scope; documenting results; preparing customer deliverables.

  • Develop Network Reports and briefs associated with networks in various theaters and Areas of Operation (AoR).

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation to include detailed project plans to monitor and track progress of assigned projects.

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques and communicate/report project status and needs to management and associated clients.

Equipment Used:

  • Generic PC Workstation.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • On-site, no telework available
  • General office environment
  • Computer/Equipment lab.

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Potential to travel domestically 5-15% of the time.
  • Ability to lift 10 lbs on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to use a computer and mouse on a consistent basis.

Written Communications:

  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.
  • Independently generates documentation that presents ideas and/or information in a logical manner. Able to organize the information and use the best methods and/or formats for its delivery.

Verbal Communications:

  • Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
  • Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

Two (two) years of relivent experience in:

  • Network Engineering, Network Administration, or System Administration.

  • Experience in computer system networking and OSI layer protocols used in a commercial and/or military communications systems.

  • Link 16 (L16) experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Provides inputs for network design/architecture for RF and IPv4 networks for military MANET/ADHOC networks.

Customer Interface Activities:

  • Interfaces with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Supports the briefing of Information Technology strategies, concepts, approaches, training, and status material in various settings.

Project Management / Staff Supervision Tasks:

  • Follows Government, company, or project processes and approval methods. Ability to follow clear established process and team priorities.

  • Contributes to the project team and/or manages a project task.

Work Schedule:

  • 9/80

  • Able to efficiently adapt to new priorities. This includes effectively multitasking project responsibilities with an awareness to support changes as needed.

  • The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

  • Requires ability to travel domestically/internationally 5-15% of the time.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • STEM degree preferred

Pay Range:$80,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually + benefits, DOE.

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an acti e Top Secret/SCI clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
