We are seeking a software engineer who is passionate about developing privacy features to join our team and build the next generation of privacy and data access features. The engineer in this role will collaborate with the system, framework, and UI layers across the Apple ecosystem to design and construct transparency, consent, and control features regarding the sharing of user personal data with applications. Description
Software engineers in this role will design, construct, and debug the software that integrates with system frameworks to enable users to control the data they expose to applications. Engineers will not only be responsible for writing new software features but also for contributing to the regular improvement of software focused on user privacy. This includes addressing privacy and security threats related to data access, evolving privacy controls for emerging use-cases, and modernizing our frameworks to support new Apple software technologies. Ideal candidates for this role will thrive in fast-paced environments and maintain a high standard of work quality. Collaboration with system, privacy, security, design, and application teams is expected. Engineers will be responsible for working throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to production, and will communicate the status and progress of their work. Minimum Qualifications
Ability to demonstrate ability to write, compile and debug software written in C, Objective-C or Swift
Ability to write scripts and develop software in Unix-like systems
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years in a software engineering role developing customer facing software on either mobile or embedded platforms
Prior experience developing privacy or security focused software systems
Ability to navigate large code bases. Experience with refactoring legacy code.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $112,300 and $168,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
