As we expand, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Design Operations to streamline and elevate our design processes, ensuring excellence and efficiency across all projects.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in design, Business Administration, or a related field. Graduate degree a plus; equivalent experience will be considered

• 8+ years of experience in design operations, project management, or a related role within a design organization.

• Proven track record of strategic leadership and operational excellence in a growing organization.

• Strong understanding of design processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

• Proficiency in project management software and design tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

How you will lead

• Strategic Leadership - Develop and implement a comprehensive design operations strategy aligned with the organization's goals and vision. Collaborate with executive leadership to set strategic priorities and objectives for the design team.

• Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for innovation in design processes and tools to enhance creativity and productivity. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design operations.

• Team Collaboration and Development - Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the design team, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of design operations professionals. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design, product, engineering, and other departments.

• Operational Excellence - Optimize and standardize design workflows, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and quality. Oversee resource management, including capacity planning, project allocation, and talent acquisition to meet project demands. Implement best practices for project management, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of design projects.

• Budget and Resource Management - Develop and manage the design operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Negotiate contracts with external vendors and partners as needed.

• Performance Metrics and Reporting - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and efficiency of design operations. Provide regular reporting and insights to executive leadership on operational performance and areas for improvement.

• Intuit Design Operations community - Participate in and foster the Intuit Design Operations Community and mentor junior members of the design team.
