Scripps is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to support our Cath Lab at Scripps Mercy San Diego, ranked #1 in San Diego by US News and World Report.
The Nurse Practitioner will provide clinician expertise while working alongside physicians both Pre-Op and Post-Op for Cardiac Cath Lab and non-invasive procedures. Patients ranging from approximately 10-20/day.
· The ideal candidate will have a Cardiology background, be self-directed and able to work independently.
· Cardiac Cath Lab experience in caring for patient with the following procedures: cardiac angiogram, PCI, aortogram IABP, Impella, pacemaker, ILR, Cardiac ablation, etc.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Working alongside 2 other NPs Assisting with non-invasive test such as stress tests, Tilt table test, etc.
- Write and update HPI, place preop and postop orders, admit and discharge, make referral, patient rounding, etc.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure that evidence-based practice is implemented and understood by staff

Required Experience/Specialized Skills:
· Minimum one year experience within a Cath Lab or Cardiology environment. Current California RN License. · Nurse Practitioner credential required. · Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. · ACLS (AHA) · Maintains medical staff credentialing as an allied health professional.
Preferred Certification/Education/Skills:
· NP in area of Cardiology is preferred. · Ability to speak Spanish is recommended. · 2 years’ experience in the APN role · TNCC and/or ATCN and CNS · 3-5 years’ experience in specialty area
