Shoals Technology Group Mechanical Design Engineer in San Diego, California

Mechanical Design Engineer San Diego, CA Position Summary: ​​​​ This role will focus on contributing to the world class design and development of power distribution systems for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Electric Vehicle Support Systems and associated components focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. You will collaborate with a diverse group who are committed to only the highest quality solutions. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities: Provide good quality designs of large BESS products from customer specifications. Design support and connectivity structures to be used with electric vehicle fleet charging. Apply engineering principles to design or modify products for prototype testing. Participate in design reviews of all products designed within the department. Participate in quoting and customer specification review to provide effective solutions to meet customer needs. Participate in continuous improvement projects. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Other: Minimum BSME graduate with minimum of 5 years recent design experience Minimum of 2 years of experience using SolidWorks and Solidworks PDM or relevant modeling capability Knowledge of design for manufacturability Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design Switchboard design experience is a plus Great computational and spatial ability Excellent oral and written communication Attention to detail Ability to travel infrequently, as needed Shoals Technologies Group, LLC provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000
