Location/Division Specific Information
The Market Development Specialist III, Protein Biology is a member of the North American Market Development team responsible for the implementation of the Go-to-Market strategy and demand generation for the North American Region Bioscience consumables market. They will lead the development and execution of channel optimization and marketing plans in support of the North America Regional Marketing team and Bioscience sales force that sells the Biosciences product portfolio in a multifaceted market environment.
How will you make an impact?
The successful candidate will be results oriented and will coordinate closely with the Bioscience Global Market Development team, and partners at various levels in the company to help develop and implement positioning, marketing plans and integrated marketing programs crafted to help achieve North America’s marketing and revenue goals. They will coordinate with internal and outside vendors, maintaining excellent professional relationships to facilitate the conversion of marketing ideas and messages into effective programs leading to revenue, improved customer intimacy, and growth in a dynamic environment. Scope is mapped to the North American region to include Canada and the United States. The successful candidate will have experience in marketing, sales, and have good communication skills paired with execution and organizational skills and eye for business to achieve goals on time.
What will you do:
Capture feedback from customers, global and other regional counterparts, and field sales to identify new market trends and opportunities. Use this information to provide input to broader business/market development strategy to drive a sustainable competitive advantage.
Leads cross-functional teams as an individual contributor to develop tactical action plans that drive growth and generate demand in key channels and customer segments.
Develops messaging & tools that communicate the value/brand directly to customers through 10 different channels, including commercial, digital, and events.
Achieves financial and market goals for designated portfolio. Performs and presents detailed analysis & routine reporting around business performance and segmentation.
Drives lead generation programs that result in sales and delight our customers in the long-term.
How will you get here:
Bachelor’s degree in life science or related field required.
Master’s degree in life science, marketing or MBA preferred
Minimum 2+ years of experience in a marketing role
Experience in protein biology, labs, applications, or related marketing role
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Participates consistently and plays an active role in working through various levels of operating mechanisms with partners to achieve the goals of the company, customer, and colleagues.
Ability to provide functional product area guidance and expertise to the broader team.
Provides regularly oral and written communication of metrics, successes, failures, best methodologies etc to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team.
Must be willing to learn and take coaching from peers and supervisors/superiors, both in success and failure.
Identifies problems, answers questions, gains partnership of others and implements efficient solutions.
Must have a can-do demeanor, as well as an ability to overcome failures to produce successful outcomes.
Up to 25% travel throughout North America
Organizational skills to successfully handle overlapping regional marketing activities and priorities.
