Truvian Sciences Facilities Manager in San Diego, California

JOB SUMMARY

Truvian Sciences is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager will support all facilities-related buildings and building equipment. This person will support a wide range of responsibilities from planning facilities upgrades, coordinating work, and ensuring maintenance are performed. You will help keep the facility operational and tidy at all times, lead facility buildouts, and comply with all regulations, policies, and procedures. Position will report to Sr. Manager, Operations.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Directs, schedules, and oversees external contractors (electricians, plumbers, mechanical, etc.)

  • Responsible for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed gas systems, lighting, and safety and security

  • Coordinates with manufacturing, laboratory operations, and office management to implement and maintain necessary changes to facilities

  • Develops budgets, purchasing requests, and implementation schedule for facility improvement outlays

  • Develops, implements, and supervises preventative maintenance and renovation programs for buildings, grounds, mechanical and electrical, utility, and safety and security systems

  • Serves as the administrator responsible for facility safety and meeting physical ADA compliance standards, works closely with staff and state officials to meet OSHA requirements

  • Coordinates with regulatory agencies for waste disposal, fire and building compliance, and permitting for any facility modifications

  • Serves as a member of the Safety Committee

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, building trades, or related field

  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in physical plant maintenance, with three (3) or more years of supervisory experience

  • Strong working knowledge in electrical, HVAC, or gas compression systems

  • A combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position

  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with executives, directors, employees, and contractors

  • Experience in operational and strategic planning as well as budget development

  • Experience in leading two (2) or more facility expansions with a budget over $1M each

  • Experience with ISO 13485 and FDA audits

  • Highly organized and extremely detailed oriented

  • Good communication , organizational, time management mathematical skills

  • Biotech and Medical Device Industry experience preferred

  • 5S principles preferred

  • Must be dependable and reliable

  • Strong working knowledge with MS Office required

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear

  • Ability to lift and move over 25 lbs. repeatedly and safely, occasionally 75 lbs. with assistance

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance

  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
