Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an

Estimator. This position is onsite at our San Diego North location. Facility located at

7919 St Andrews Ave, San Diego, CA 92154.

Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego North office and reports to our President of Aircraft Products.

Position Summary:

The Estimator plays a critical role in shaping business decisions by developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. This position collaborates closely with internal teams to analyze complex project specifications and determine cost and profitability. The Estimator also assesses pricing strategies, making data-driven adjustments to optimize profitability and competitiveness. Additionally, they ensure that all cost development policies and procedures align with government regulations and company objectives.

Essential-Functions:

• Develops comprehensive project cost estimates by analyzing key factors such as project complexity, objectives, scope, and economic considerations.
• Converts project scope and engineering deliverables into accurate capital expenditure estimates.
• Establishes and maintains cost-monitoring processes to track project profitability and financial performance.
• Conducts thorough reviews and audits of cost estimates, validating methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters.
• Applies cost correlation analysis and firsthand experience to extrapolate cost curves and forecast financial trends.
• Ensures compliance with government regulations, company policies, and management objectives in all cost development procedures.

Non-Essential Functions:

Required Education and Experience:

• 3-5 years of estimating experience.
• Understanding of composites materials and manufacturing processes highly preferred.
• Strong estimating experience and ability to perform complex analysis.
• Previous experience with CAD software highly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
• Able to meet multiple and/or conflicting deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bi-Lingual Spanish/English preferred
• Experience with SAP ERP System
• Experience with using Customer portals (Exostar, Boeing, Northrop, etc.)

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this position falls within $26 to $35. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
