Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Engineering/IT Supervisor to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will lead and supervise the engineering team including Engineering and IT Network Specialists. Self-perform high-level software integration/migration/segmentation type applications. What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

  • Supervises a team of security designers and drafters. Manages preparation and procurement of all project material purchases. Obtains and facilitates project permits.

  • Supervises Engineering Specialists including mentoring and training team of colleagues.

  • Works directly with service CSP customers on high-end IT software applications (database migrations, database segmentation, etc.).

  • Manages projects including coordinating and overseeing select, complex “IT-centric” projects.

  • Performs systems upgrades on large, Enterprise Class systems – act as team lead when additional manpower required.

  • Provides operational support for sales, site surveys, and walkthroughs.

  • Supervises Engineering Specialists, IT Network Specialists, Drafters and Designers. Supervises in a manner that maintains morale, skills proficiency and productivity. Recruits and hires team members as required. May perform limited range of managerial responsibilities including but not limited to: mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; project budget. May oversee subcontractor selection process and work.

  • Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted

  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to electronic security systems; CCURE, Milestone, American Dynamics, Lenel and Genetech etc.

  • Familiarty with cameras: Axis, Hanwha

  • Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions

  • Leadership Orientation – Actively seeks ways in which to act as a role model, guide, develop and mentor others within the Operations Department

  • Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD and/or viewing software; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily)

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3 years relevant engineering, systems, or related experience

  • Two-year technical degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field

  • Previous project supervisory

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

  • Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare

  • Bachelor’s degree
