Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$30.164 - $37.705 - $45.246

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Maintains complete and accurate accreditation documentation for Clinical Laboratory and Pathology Services. Maintains Laboratory Intranet web page to ensure ease of use, accuracy of information, and up to date postings. Maintains all policies and procedures under secure document control system. Attends meetings to provide direct and indirect support of Laboratory Directors, Managers and Senior Specialists. Assists, coordinates and (may) lead lab process improvement projects. Provides the content knowledge, expertise and judgment required to support the Sharp HealthCare (SHC) mission and laboratory operations.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent

  • 3 Years Laboratory experience processing specimens, preparing specimens for analysis, assisting licensed or certified lab staff in performing testing procedures and processing (Associate or Bachelors degree in science may substitute for experience)

  • 3 Years Experience organizing multiple projects, including increasing responsibilities in the preparation of technical/complex information.

  • Extensive experience utilizing Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, PhotoShop, and other related software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

Essential Functions

  • CommunicationLiaisons with various levels of staff, management and physicians to provide non-technical in-service and training.Communicate clearly and effectively in front of groups as well as one-on-one meetings with all levels of staff and management.

  • Customer servicePrioritize and adjust schedule as needed to support laboratory staff and management to meet operational needs and regulatory requirements.Responds to all inquiries with a timeliness that promotes customer satisfaction.Communicates effectively with all levels of staff and uses chain of command.Communicates direct supervisor(s) instructions or desires to various departments or individuals.

  • Document managementMaintains document control system for the Policy & Procedures, lab forms, Online Inspection checklist, competency and Lab Analytics. Facilitates and maintains annual review and revision information.Uses technology to support, track and manage systems and meetings through which documents are approved and implemented. Supports the SHC lab Directors, Managers, Senior Specialists and Leads for all regulatory hospital inspections.Administrator for the CLSI Standards eClipse product. Downloads and maintains document control of all standards.Enters CAP checklist items and maintains data/evidence in Online Inspection checklist system.Researches and gathers data from various sources and generates special projects/reports/summaries. Report generation may involve analyzing statistics and preparing spreadsheets, databases or other documents.Develops and maintains databases and uses computer applications as appropriate.

  • Other dutiesExperienced user of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.Composes correspondence, memos, presentations, flyers, spreadsheets, and other documents as requested. Drafts complex documents from abstract ideas and general information.Completes department specific forms/record/data management per guidelines (e.g. personnel, licenses, vendor, charge/billing, special projects, and others as needed).Information and records are kept confidential per guidelines.Resource person within department and to other secretarial/administrative staff and the leadership team.Manages/coordinates schedule of designated individual(s).Attends meetings as requested. Schedules, records, communicates and coordinates projects and team meetings as needed. Presents data in a timely and accurate manner.Uses technology to support, track and manage systems and meetings through which documents are approved and implemented.Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • Policies and proceduresUses Sharp's Document Control System (DCS) to upload and edit documents for P&P's utilizing appropriate standards, software, and formatting guidelines.Uses the DCS to generate annual reviews, medical director approvals, reports, and all associated information required to maintain accurate and up to date documentation.Continuously works with laboratory staff and management to develop, edit, archive and otherwise manage all necessary documentation for compliance with CAP, CLIA and Joint Commission requirements as well as standard practices and processes of the Laboratories.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, TJC accreditation standards, ability to identify appropriate standards as applicable to Policy and Procedure (P&P) documents.
