The Psychiatric Acute team is looking for someone who has a strong skill set of deescalating patients, experience with assisting patients with activities of daily living, and operating with the mindset of delivering exceptional patient care. This is a 36 bed inpatient unit, where you will interact with 10-12 patients on average, and will also be involved with running therapeutic groups with patients, as well as assisting nurses with admissions and discharges. The ideal candidate will be someone who has direct patient care experience with behavioral health psychiatric patients.
The duties of the Care Team Assistant include:
- Works in collaboration with other care team members to assure safe and optimal patient care
- Supports the unit with a variety of clerical, patient logistic, equipment/supply, charge reconciliation, and patient service duties
- Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
- Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and maintains a safe, organized environment
Required Certification/Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Multiple patient care skills preferred
- Prefer one-year experience in health care related field, sterile processing, patient transport or equivalent responsibilities
- CPI Certification
