We have an outstanding career opportunity for aBenefits Directorto join a leading Company located in theTorrey Pines, CAsurrounding area.
Directs the development, implementation and maintenance of the company's benefits programs including pension and 401(k) retirement plans, vacation, holiday, time off, sick pay, unemployment, disability, flexible spending, service awards, group health/medical/dental coverage, vendor management, wellness and health education initiatives, and life insur,ance.
Develops programs designed to keep employees informed about company benefit plans and any proposed changes.
Ensures that programs are current about trends,, practices, and costs.
Negotiates coverage,e, services, and costs with carriers and brokers.
Interacts with others in areas, such as the risk management or legal departments, to investigate innovative programs (e.g., self-insurance) to determine feasibility in terms of cost, the risk to the company, and legal implication ns.
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Ensures all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Ensures work is accomplished safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Provides due diligence on future acquisitions.
Preforms other duties as assigned or required.
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline and fifteen or more years of progressive human resources professional experience with at least nine of those years managing human resources processes and personnel.
Experience with designing pension and 401(k) retirement plans is highly desired.
Must have extensive and the detailed technical expertise and application of relevant human resources principles, s, theories, and concepts.
Must be able to provide leadership and direction to staff and colleagues while representing the organization internally and externally as a spokesperson on human resources matters.
Must be customer-focused and possess:
(1) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data, and develop innovative solutions to a variety of unusually complex problems using a high degree of independent judgment;
(2) excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including executive and senior management, senior external parties, and government agencies;
(3) excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers and senior external parties;
(4) the ability to effectively and efficiently initiate, plan, budget, and manage projects; and
(5) good knowledge of computer applications and operations pertinent to the field.
Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and lead in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
