Our Corporate R&D Centre in San Diego (USA) is currently looking for an Assistant Analytical Scientist /Analytical Scientist. The successful candidate will be part of a team of scientists and associates providing support to our flavor modifiers discovery efforts and charged with conducting experiments aimed at determining the identity, purity, stability, and solubility, as well as metabolism and pharmacokinetic profiles, of experimental and candidate flavoring ingredients. This position requires a proven hands-on expertise in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead/conduct compound characterizations experiments (e.g. solubility, stability, photostability, pKa, identity / purity /concentration) and analyze the samples from those experiments by LC-MS or LC-UV.

  • Analyze routine samples from taste testing to assure sample quality.

  • Design and conduct in-vitro metabolism studies (incubation, sample preparation, analysis by LC-MS, and data processing).

  • Conduct bioanalysis for in-vivo metabolism, pharmacokinetics and excretion studies. Develop methods for sample preparation and LC-MS analysis for bioanalysis and compound characterization.

  • Communicate study results proactively to a diversity of stakeholders and publish key accomplishments in reports and external publications or presentations.

  • Maintain and enhance relevant Python and C# apps for analytical data processing and reporting and develop new apps as needed.

  • Contribute to data mining and machining learning projects through data preparation using various informatics tools.

    You bring:

  • BS/MS degree in chemistry, biology, or related field.

  • 6+ years (BS) or 4+ years (MS) of track record and relevant experience in relevant environment.

  • Experience in LC/MS, bioanalysis.

  • Proficiency in wet chemistry.

  • Accuracy and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work with common and in-house IT tools.

  • Python and C# skills.

  • Knowledge of receptor-based discovery process for novel flavors.

  • Must be a strong team player and communicator, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
