Aston Carter Accounts Payable Manager in San Diego, California

Hiring for an AP Manager in Sorrento Valley! Hybrid (2 days on site per week)

Qualifications:

• 5 years relevant accounts payable experience; 2 years people management experience.

• Experience in biotech industry preferred.

• Public company and SOX Compliance experience.

• Track record of taking initiative to resolve issues.

• People management skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of professionals capable of achieving aggressive business goals and objectives.

• Ability to manage concurrent multiple projects and activities and adapt to change.

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies.

• Demonstrates grace under pressure with a good sense of humor and dose of humility.

• Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.

• Software knowledge in Dynamics365 F&O (AX), SAP Concur, Box, QuickBooks Online, Blackline.

Description:

• Manage a growing team of Accounts Payable Specialists.

• Maintain integrity of vendor banking information within the banking platform and financial ERP.

• Prepare vendor payment proposals with consideration for business needs of float and operation deadlines.

• Prepare all outgoing payments (ACH, Foreign/Domestic Wires, etc.) into banking platforms.

• Manage company credit card platform; enforce company travel & reimbursement policies.

• Reconcile and monitor payment transactions ensuring a current bank reconciliation.

• Review vendor invoices timely for policy compliance and coding accuracy; approve into financial ERP.

• Oversee the maintenance and organization of vendor information; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements where applicable (HIPAA, SOX, etc.).

• Maintain adherence with IRS filing and recordkeeping guidelines for W9 and 1099 production.

• Manage monthly un-invoiced vendor service accruals; critically review vendor billing trends.

• Provide final accounting review of employee expense reimbursements, process payments through expense and banking platform.

• Assist with annual audit and quarter reviews including internal control walkthroughs.

• Certify all month-end banking, accounts payable, and vendor related accrual reconciliations.

• Organize supporting documentation for quarterly reviews and year-end financial statement audit.

• Support the continuous effort in building-out procure-to-pay and accounting systems.

• Participate in the execution of SOX Compliance efforts.

• Interact with financial management, general management, internal/external auditors and other personnel.

• Perform other tasks as requested, including ad-hoc analysis.
