Google Engineering Director, Generative AI for Creation, YouTube in San Bruno, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • 15 years of experience in engineering with technical innovation.

  • Experience leading app development, full stack engineering, and distributed systems teams.

  • Experience with AI or computer technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working on consumer-facing products.

  • Experience leading projects with multiple partners and stakeholders.

  • Ability to successfully drive cross-functional initiatives from strategy to execution.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate engineering teams to work together as a cohesive and productive unit.

As Director of Engineering for Generative AI for Creation at YouTube, you will lead the teams to drive creation via AI/ML, with a special emphasis on Generative AI to build product experiences that make Generative AI technology available to YouTube Creators. You will be responsible for the execution, technical ideas, and strategic coordination among key stakeholders. Along with Product Managers, user experience, and other cross-functional peers, you will find ways to leverage the strengths of Google/YouTube to build AI for video creation.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $278,000-$399,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Partner with Product Management leadership to define the opportunities for video creation in the fast evolving area of Generative AI.

  • Identify gaps and develop solutions, and contribute to YouTube engineering leadership on initiatives.

  • Take responsibility for planning, execution, and success of technical projects.
