Security Service Federal Credit Union Personal Analytics Insurance Accountant in San Antonio, Texas

The Performance Analytics Insurance Accountant II prepares a variety of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders related to Insurance carrier transactions. Builds and sustains relationships with insurance companies and multiple internal departments. Ensures and verifies the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions, specifically through daily matching/posting of cash receipts to ensure timely receipt and deposit of funds. Reconciles cash accounts daily. Posts commissions at policy and insured level. Prepares and processes journal entries. Prepares and completes reconciliation of carrier commission statements and resolves accounting discrepancies. Completes month-end bank reconciliations. Follows up for any outstanding exception payments and posts accordingly. Researches and resolves unapplied cash in suspense or cash on account at client level. Assists in the Month-End Close process. Accountable for accuracy of data and associated analyses pertaining to refunds and other calculations. Completes schedules and reports requested for NCUA examinations. Prepares schedules and gathers required support for financial audit. Provides overall subject matter expertise to various internal departments. Completes any other job related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values. Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of three (3) years as a Staff Accountant, data analytics or comparable experience. Minimum of two (2) years of Property and Casualty Insurance Accounting experience. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, strong Excel experience. Able to multitask and prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Complete delegated accounting functions with limited supervisory instruction.
