What are we looking for?

The Parts Preparation Technician is responsible for Disassembling gasoline engines and cleaning parts according to standard procedures and test procedure specifications using hand tools and power tools. May perform all tasks outlined below or may specialize in one or more tasks, commensurate with capabilities and skills.

Shift/Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary for this position is $15.34 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you’ll do:

  • Cleans diesel or gasoline engine test parts using compressed air, solvents and cleansers as outlined in test specifications.

  • Ensures availability of sufficient cleaned and inspected parts and hardware to preclude delay of test engine build-ups.

  • Performs shop clean-up duties to ensure orderliness and safety of work areas.

  • Maintains and services cleaning equipment.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 6+ months of experience in the automotive field is desired.

  • Ability to use automotive mechanic hand tools.

  • Must be able to read and follow shop manual directions and special written instructions.

  • Good computer skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel desired.

  • Heavy exposure to noxious fumes requiring the use of respiratory equipment. Requires the use of safety glasses, shoes, and hearing protection. Requires ability to lift and carry heavy engine parts and 49 lb. lubricant containers.
