Job Title: Overhead Crane Technician

Job Description

Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

• Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed.

• Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs for customers.

• Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.

• Service overhead crane systems by performing quality installations, performing OSHA/ANSI equivalent inspections, documenting and completing warranty work, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to repair calls.

• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.

• Build and maintain customer confidence by maintaining good response time, informing customers of problems, and completing the job in a timely manner.

• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.

Essential Skills

• Three phase motors troubleshooting

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

• Strong high voltage electrical background

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment up to 480 volts

• Knowledge of contactors and VFDs

• Ability to work at heights above 25 feet

• Clean driving record

• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, repair, crane inspection, electrical maintenance, and electrical wiring

• Ability to fabricate and weld structures

• Assemble and repair complex machinery

• Work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Work independently

• Perform inspections to OSHA/ANSI criteria

Work Environment

You will travel in TX 99% of the time from North Austin to Corpus Christi. Regular hours are from 7am to 5pm, but flexibility is needed for extended hours and some weekends. You will be on call as well. The working environment varies depending on the type of manufacturing company or oil field, etc. You will be working on overhead cranes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
