Summary

Manager with extensive experience in IT Portfolio Management, adept at defining and maintaining governance frameworks to ensure alignment with enterprise goals. Proficient in creating portfolio dashboards and tracking project health, financials and business value delivery. Offers guidance and coaching to project team members, fostering best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.

This position gets very broad direction from management and requires a high level of initiative, knowledge of managing portfolio financials and budget, individual contribution and problem-solving ability.

This position will support our IT team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of Dallas, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the alignment of projects with the overall IT budget, manage pipeline of new projects, and support resource management and accountability

  • Manage the IT portfolio, conduct financial analysis and prepare materials for senior management review and approval (C-level, VPs and Directors)

  • Leads the IT budget process working directly with the COO, CTO, IT leaders and other financial departments

  • Leads discussions and activities regarding IT project funding, resourcing, and prioritization

  • Support cross-functional team members to develop project schedules and/or milestones, project plans, budgets, scope, timeline and risks and risk mitigation plans to identify dependencies

  • Work with Financial Planning team to incorporate project costs into IT organization-level budgets and financial forecasts

  • Gather requirements from senior and executive leaders and create reports on metrics that describe the state of the IT portfolio including Project Portfolio Health, Financial Health, and Resource Health Ensure project intake and business case analysis is completed & financials are tracked

  • Partner with Enterprise portfolio alignment team to drive communication and change management to implement and sustain governance process adoption across the business operations. Assist with process related issues

  • Improve the enterprise governance framework and IT Portfolio management processes continuously based on best practices such as: planning, budgeting, program/project execution & control, IT standards, issue & risk monitoring, dashboard status reporting to name a few

  • Work with the teams to prepare material, reporting and dashboards for enterprise investment council reviews

  • Keep project documentation including financials for historical reviews and yearly audits

  • Support communications for IT initiatives

  • Manage and deliver on adhoc requests as received from IT leaders

  • May include portfolio analyst in matrix reporting structure to provide oversight

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Administration, Finance or a related analytical field or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of IT Portfolio Management, PMO Design, Development & Implementation Work Processes, Deliverables, & Tools.

  • 6+ years of Program management experience.

  • Experience in creating and managing IT budgets that are $10M or more.

  • Experience in designing development plans for large and complex projects.

  • Strong background in application development methodologies (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban and other IT industry standards.)

  • Experience in working directly with C-level and senior management.

  • Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting.

  • Create and manage project timelines, resources, vendors, and budgetary requirements for large, complex projects

  • Proficient in functional support areas (financial accounting, purchasing, legal).

  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment and collaborate with IT and business area representatives in leading and supporting development activities.

  • Lean portfolio experience preferred

  • Demonstrated strong business judgment and decision-making skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint, PowerBI
