INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

SAS is looking for a Manufacturing, Process, and/or Industrial Engineer that can utilize both IT/technology and process improvement to reduce cost and turn-time, while improving quality for related and affected functional areas. Additionally, the position will focus on assisting in the implementation, training and utilization of an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design manufacturing processes in an industrial plant with a focus on maximizing efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.

  • Monitor Manufacturing KPIs and help to improve efficiencies by department and location.

  • Determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

  • Use excellent communication skills to ask questions, understand issues and create cooperation between departments and personnel.

  • Devise and conduct studies in operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.

  • Learn labor-costing process in order to support this task.

  • Learn and use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Microsoft as ERP System. Be the trainer for other employees. Being able to monitor inventory levels and communicate changes to departments involved.

  • Learn and use Leadtec Shop Floor. Be the trainer for other employees and gain efficiencies in manufacturing through utilization of the system.

  • Monitor changes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 that will affect Manufacturing, Production Scheduling, Purchasing and/or Quality Control. Being able to communicate and track information for inter departments.

  • Physical labor as needed, which can be often in manufacturing.

  • Mature, responsible, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

  • Have a never say “It Can’t Be Done” attitude and willing to get involved in everything.

  • Able to work effectively with employees from line-worker to CEO.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented with good communication skills.

  • A self-starter who enjoys taking on new challenges to expand his/her role.

  • Ability to work independently or to lead a team with solid follow-up and follow through.

  • Display respect for co-workers, their team and the company.

  • Ability to learn new systems, programs and/or process independently or with minimum help.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to change.

  • Able to travel as needed to all locations. Travel between San Antonio and Del Rio will occur regularly regardless of where the engineer resides. The ability to get a passport is required.

  • Bilingual in at least conversational Spanish is not essential, but extremely necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical labor is often necessary for 8-10 hours or more per day with breaks approximately every two hours including sitting, standing and walking.

  • Ability to work climate controlled office environment.

  • The maximum weight limit is 25 lbs.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Manufacturing/Industrial and/or Process Engineering or equivalent work experience.

  • Have 0-1 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial and/or process engineering for a manufacturing or industrial company.

  • Preferably with experience in Designed and Development.

  • General expertise in Microsoft Office; with Advance skills in Excel.
