Description/Job Summary SUMMARY Sells parts to all customers through the shop. Responsibilities/Duties *// *ESSENTIAL DUTIES [Anchor]Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * [Anchor]Assists all shop customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Also, works within a team in a positive, efficient manner on a daily basis. * [Anchor][Anchor]Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information. * [Anchor][Anchor]Provides high level of service and integrity to internal customers. * [Anchor]Pulls and fills orders from stock. * [Anchor]Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention. * [Anchor]Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary. * [Anchor]Notifies the service advisor when special ordered parts have been received. * Pulls orders for delivery to technicians, making sure all parts are tagged with RO number. * [Anchor][Anchor][Anchor]Follows up on back-ordered parts. * [Anchor][Anchor][Anchor][Anchor][Anchor][Anchor]Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on the service RO. * [Anchor]Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original RO number is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. * Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, and special order parts. * [Anchor][Anchor][Anchor][Anchor][Anchor]Keeps rear counter areas clean and uncluttered. * [Anchor]Cleans computer terminals and printers daily. * [Anchor]Participates in all training programs that are made available. * [Anchor]Keeps current on new products and product updates. * [Anchor][Anchor]Maintains professional appearance. * Works Saturdays on a rotating basis. Required Skills LANGUAGE SKILLS [Anchor]Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence including work orders and requests from internal customers, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. [Anchor]Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. [Anchor]MATHEMATICAL SKILLS [Anchor]Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.[Anchor] Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. [Anchor]REASONING ABILITY [Anchor] [Anchor]Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. [Anchor] Ability to understand basic principles of automotive technology and parts assemblies. Required Experience Three years' experience with automotive parts products and a minimum of one year experience as a Parts Back Counter Salesperson.
