Robert Half Grant Accountant in San Antonio, Texas

Description We are seeking a Grant Accountant to join our team in the Education - University sector, located in San Antonio, Texas. As a Grant Accountant, your main function will be to handle post award grant accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and effectively communicating financial policies within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with OMB 2CFR 200, the code of federal regulations, compliance, and cost principles for federal awards

• Set up, monitor and close out grant awards for post-award accounting

• Effectively communicate with all levels within the organization to facilitate post-award accounting of restricted funding

• Coordinate financial policies of the federal government and university with Principal Investigators

• Handle the preparation of audit work papers for Uniform Guidance audit and financial statement audits

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close

• Operate software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting tasks

• Maintain open communication lines with all levels of the organization, including Principal Investigators

• Review and monitor grant awards for post-award accounting. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is essential.

• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries is a must.

• Proficiency in Month End Close tasks is required.

• Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is highly desired.

• Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Must be detail-oriented and organized.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.

• Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.

• Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Experience in the education industry, particularly within a university setting, is highly preferred.
