Description

We are working with a global company to find an assistant controller in San Antonio. This role is integral to the finance and accounting activities of our business operations. The Controller will be responsible for executing various accounting tasks, implementing effective processes, hiring a team and contributing to financial forecasting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the integration of new business scopes into existing financial software systems and manage the implementation of new software tools as necessary for evolving operational needs.

• Supervise and contribute to Accounts Receivable (AR) activities and cash flow management, including timely billing and collections, and Accounts Payable (AP) activities such as PO/invoice reconciliation and processing including payment selection.

• Lead and contribute to the monthly close process, including projects review with the operation team, revenue recognition, and accruals.

• Monitor contracts to ensure correct revenue recognition and to track profitability.

• Contribute to financial forecasting, providing the business with analysis and information to understand the past, manage the present, and anticipate the future.

• Assist in negotiating and agreeing to terms of operational contracts, particularly financial arrangements.

• Ensure appropriate financial and other internal controls are in place and align with company standards.

• Oversee other related areas such as tax compliance, insurance requirements or claims, asset management, procurement process as necessary.

• Eventually, build and manage a team of at least 2 direct reports (AP/AR/staff accountant).

Requirements

• 8 years of experience and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role; Public accounting experience and CPA is required

• Proficiency in various accounting software systems is required.

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting functions.

• Large company experience is required.

• Strong auditing skills and familiarity with MEC procedures.
