Position : Construction Inspector 1 (CM Inspector 1)

Location : San Antonio, TX

We are seeking a Construction Inspector 2 (CM Inspector 2) to join our San Antonio, TX team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Roadway construction testing and inspection, document control, reporting, and assisting the Engineer as needed.

• Performing tests both in the field and laboratory for concrete, hot mix, soils and aggregates.

• Complex and routine construction inspection of roadways and materials to ensure compliance with construction contract specifications.

• Contract document control and reporting, including field measurements, calculations, and computations.

• Performing materials tests both in the field and laboratory for concrete, hot mix, soils, aggregates, and other materials.

• Assisting the Project Manager or Project Engineer, as needed.

• Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years minimum experience in highway construction inspection

• Experience at reading and comprehending plans, specifications and test procedures

• Knowledge and experience working with material testing including concrete, soils, base and/or asphalt pavements

• Experience with environmental compliance

• Must have a proven history of working well with contractors and owners to accomplish construction tasks

• Experience in inspection of earthwork and roadway base construction, hot mix asphalt and/or concrete paving operations

• Experience with inspection of structures, utilities, and drainage is preferred

• Proficient in providing work zone traffic control and ensuring a safe work zone

• Experience providing contract administration and field reporting

• Must have experience handling record keeping duties in conjunction with recordkeeper and project manager

• Proficient communication with PM, staff, contractor and other stakeholders

• Must have good driving record and a valid driver’s license

Technical Requirements:

• Proficient at using Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets and knowledge of PDF software such as Bluebeam or Adobe.

• Must have or be able to quickly obtain certification in ACI Field, LVL1B, SB102 and SWPPP.

Other Miscellaneous Qualities:

• Must relocate to the San Antonio, Texas area

• Must be willing to work either day or night shifts

• Must be willing to work weekends

• Must be willing to transition from field testing and inspection duties to laboratory testing responsibilities as needed

• Must be willing to work “off hours” when needed and up to 60 hours per week as needed

• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

• Abide by Atlas health and safety policies and procedures
