Job Title: Aviation General Mechanic II

Job Type: Full time; Consultant ( 9 Months)

Location: San Antonio, TX 78226

Schedule: Monday to Friday; variable shifts

Pay Rate: $35- 40 per hour

Selected candidates will have :

  • 4+ years of on-aircraft general maintenance experience . Please clearly indicate on your resume your aircraft platform experience and years of experience with aircraft maintenance and modifications.

  • Demonstrated experience on-aircraft Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance . Experience working various aircraft exterior and interior systems such as : hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines.

  • Demonstrated experience with preserving aircraft structure, sealing, shimming, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and retrofit requirements to perform modifications and aircraft servicing.

  • The ability to obtain customer approval for aircraft access, for which Dual citizenship or prior citizenship of any other country may preclude the ability to obtain access.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure and systems in accordance with standard repair processes

  • Demonstrates the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform modification/repair.

  • Use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.

  • A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.

  • Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging. Landing gear and servicing of aircraft.

  • Perform essential component change outs for example servo pumps, filters and engine components.

  • The mechanic will be required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.

  • Able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.

  • Ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.

  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.

  • Use any and all precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.

  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.

  • Must be able to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Skill Requirements Must-Have:

  • Aircraft Maintenance experience (4+ years)

  • Experience in Depot Level Maintenance/Heavy General Maintenance

  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems Flight Control Systems Landing Gears Fuel Systems and Engines Maintenance

  • Ability to interpret Engineering Drawings and understand Retrofit Requirements

  • Proficiency in using specialized tools such as Test Equipment Torque Wrenches Dial Indicators Micrometers and Cable Tensiometers

Preferred:

  • FAA A&P License or equivalent military technical school training

  • Experience performing aircraft engine runs

  • Operation of equipment such as forklifts or cranes

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
