Qualcomm’s XR business is seeking a Staff Product Manager to join a talented and innovative team developing the next generation of Augmented and Mixed reality (XR) technologies.  The Staff Product manager will lead the ideation, technical development, and commercialization of the Snapdragon Spaces Developer SDK, driving development with cross functional teams of world-class hardware and software engineers, designers, and product and business specialists.  We are looking for a creative product leader with the passion for building technology that will impact the world through the power of Augmented and Mixed Reality and accelerate how 3rd party developers use XR to positively impact people’s lives. 

You are a systems thinker and an executer who will translate the business's high-level vision and goals into actionable tasks, communicating these plans to key constituents across the organization to establish a shared vision, including with the executive team. You will set product strategy, defining a product roadmap that prioritizes features, product requirements, and timelines assembled from multiple sources understanding current and future needs.  You will define and analyze metrics that inform success of the product areas you manage including performance and build consensus across the organization ensuring cross functional communication and alignment.  You will coordinate product schedules with your design, program, and engineering teammates championing the "voice of the developer/creator", while making decisions that have substantial impact on the organization and its products success.  

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.  You must enjoy spending time in the market with developers, creators, and other internal and external influencers, customers, and partners to understand their needs, and find innovative solutions for broader market problems that will inform the product roadmap. 

Communications skills are key to success in this role, you must possess verbal and written skills that convey complex information to audiences with differing knowledge levels including high level internal constituents and can develop strong rapport and credibility both internally and externally to resolve conflicts and promote ideas persuasively and collaboratively. You will work with engineering and program counterparts to define product release requirements based on market problems, this role will require strong negotiation, influence, and consensus building on priorities to achieve high quality and dependable product execution. You must be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead without authority and be comfortable managing in ambiguity, and complexity.

This role is located in Salzburg Austria.

*Key Responsibilities *

  • Act as the “voice of the developer/creator” from the outside-in to the rest of the organization.

  • Analyze the market and collaborate with the team to choose the best features to pursue.

  • Develop a multi-year roadmap for your XR SDK products to illustrate the product vision and plan into the future.

  • Identify, evaluate and pursue 3rd party product integrations where we would be more successful enabling vs building end to end

  • Engage with engineering teams to drive the API design and development.

  • Evaluate new API standards and drive continuous improvement of the APIs and how they integrate with the broader SDK

  • Work with external standards organizations to drive API standardizing in the XR industry

  • Benchmark products against other solutions in the market to inform the product roadmap

  • Stay current with the XR technology stack and research in computer vision, deep learning, distributed systems, networking, graphics, connectivity, and game engines.

  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of the portfolio and individual products

  • Develop and maintain a business plan that makes a compelling case for continued investment in the feature area

  • Understand the nuances between consumer-centric and commercial use cases and their impact on product requirements

  • Create user stories for current and future creator and developer products based on the market’s problems

  • Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

  • Manage the feature area life cycle from deprecating legacy APIs/features to prototyping and testing new features/products and ideas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years Product Management or related work experience with 2+ years of experience working with developer SDK's.

  • 3+ years of experience working on XR products

  • Strategic and analytical thinking, strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and a willingness to resolve issues and problems in a timelymanner

  • Ability to achieve ambitious goals in a fast-paced environment, making quick and accuratedecisions

  • Direct experience developing products & applications on or forthe leadingVR/MR XR SDK's (e.g. Meta Quest, Pico, HTC) or similar

  • Strong technical acumen.  Understanding of the XR development process and ability to articulate challenges and source solutions for creators and developers.  

  • Experience working with developer-focused SDKs, APIs, services, and toolchains

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on OpenXR or WebXR based projects

  • Experience working with XR hardware OEMs

  • Experience with product management requirements and roadmappingtools

  • Experience prototyping or programming XR applications

  • 3+ years working in a large matrixed organization

  • MBA

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.

• 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
