R.C. HUNT ELECTRIC, INC. High Voltage Electrical Project Manager in SALT LAKE CTY, Utah

Hunt Electric, Inc. of Salt Lake City, UT is searching for full-time Project Manager/Estimator to join our team within the High Voltage Division. Can you work in a team environment with other employees to oversee the installation from bidding the job to the final construction? This position requires a high level of High Voltage construction experience, and customer service to build and maintain relationships.  This person must have self-motivation and self-management of work with strong interpersonal skills to meet with users in a face-to-face environment.

 

The Project Manager/Estimator will assist in the estimating, planning, initiating, and managing of information for various projects. This person will also serve as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects and monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.

 

Major Duties:

  • Bid and prepare cost estimates.
  • Prepare and oversee preconstruction budgets and scheduling.
  • Process contract drawings and specifications and oversee the project is in accordance with these documents.
  • Process and manage change orders.
  • Prepare billings and ensure timely payment of billings.
  • Monitor project's material and labor costs and ensure accurate quality reporting is being conducted.
  • Read, interpret, analyze and forecast a project's cost report and determine the status of the job in terms of schedule and cost.
  • Be aware of unit costs and monitor and compare daily progress on site with that of the project's estimate.
  • Conduct project meetings as needed.
  • Coordinate, manage, and communicate with all vendors and effectively deal with problems such as delivery, labor, schedule and payment disputes.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of trade unions, their agreements and stipulations.
  • Ensure that the project is in a positive cash flow position and review project manager reports accurately and timely with direct Supervisor.
  • Work closely with customers and their specific high voltage needs.
  • Coordinate with Operations Manager while working with field crews.
  • Have a valid Driver's License.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.

     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three plus years of high voltage construction, design, finance and one year experience/knowledge of high voltage management experience managing projects required.
  • Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence etc.) skills essential.
  • Proficiency in department's computer system, department software, and typing necessary.

     

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience working with electrical utilities and renewable energy suppliers
  • A college degree
  • Experience with Accubid, B2W, MS Projects, and Blue Beam Preferred.
  • Capable of managing multiple high revenue projects.
  • Design Build Experience is preferred.

This full-time position receives a competitive salary commensurate with experience and position responsibilities. WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 7:00am - 2:00pm.
