Job Title: Tooling Engineer II Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation.  Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products - including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few - AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated Tooling Engineer with a strong background in aerospace tooling design, development, procurement, and sustainment/repair to join our team in Salt Lake City.

Primary Responsibilities: * Independent Problem Solving: Work under general direction, independently determining and developing approaches to solutions. Review work upon completion to ensure it meets objectives. * Technical Expertise: Apply a comprehensive understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field, with a general knowledge of related disciplines. * Innovative Solutions: Provide technical solutions to a wide range of challenging problems. Ensure solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical, and align with the organization's objectives. * Project Contribution: Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects. Understand that failure to achieve results or making erroneous decisions/recommendations can lead to significant program delays and resource expenditure. * Inter-Organizational Collaboration: Maintain frequent contact with inter-organizational and external customers. Represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects. * Project Management: Demonstrate project management and leadership abilities. Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with both internal and external customers. * Manufacturing Methods: Possess knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes with the ability to select best tooling solutions for production parts and assemblies for aerospace composite structures. Day Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30

Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in aerospace tooling design, development, procurement and sustainment. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Proficiency in relevant software and tools including Solidworks and CATIA V5. * Ability to work on location * Travel required 10% Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Disciplined, organized, and detail oriented, with good time management.
  • GDandT AMSE 14.5-2018, Configuration Management, and technical writing.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • SAP Experience
