Job Description:

The Test Systems Engineering Manager will spearhead a dynamic team of Test System Engineers, guiding them through the comprehensive test lifecycle of L3Harris products. This pivotal role encompasses the orchestration of the test process from its conceptual inception and detailed design phases, through to the meticulous analysis of root causes and the strategic implementation of corrective measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the authoritative figure and subject matter expert within the Test Engineering department, offering deep insights into L3Harris product testing protocols.

  • Craft, optimize, and standardize test procedures, ensuring their effective execution by the Testing and Technician staff within the Operations division.

  • Prioritize diagnostic activities, troubleshooting, and problem-solving to address issues swiftly and implement robust solutions that mitigate future occurrences.

  • Commit to providing exceptional weekend support, focusing on bolstering the manufacturing and test execution teams with expert guidance and technical assistance.

    The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of test engineering principles and demonstrate a proven track record in leading technical teams to achieve excellence in testing operations. A proactive approach to continuous improvement, coupled with a dedication to supporting cross-functional teams outside of standard working hours, is essential for success in this role.

    Essential Functions:

  • Cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement by leading and mentoring a team of engineers in the development, optimization, and maintenance of test processes.

  • Regularly review and update test process requirements and procedures to ensure alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.

  • Drive improvements in test yield and throughput through comprehensive root cause analysis and the strategic implementation of corrective actions.

  • Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation to support Operations, ensuring clarity and accessibility of product-related information.

  • Provide critical insights and recommendations to the Engineering department to inform product life cycle management decisions and strategies.

  • Actively contribute to shaping the organizational vision by providing technical input and advocating for innovative testing methodologies.

  • Serve as a key technical consultant to internal teams, contract manufacturers, or customers, offering expert advice on test-related matters.

  • Represent the Test Engineering department in external technical discussions, effectively communicating capabilities and advocating for the organization's interests.

  • Provide hands-on support to the manufacturing floor, swiftly addressing production issues and facilitating smooth operations through expert technical assistance.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet project schedules and commitments.

  • Possession of an active security clearance if required for the role.
