Senior Quality Engineer

As a hands-on, senior member of our Quality Engineering team, you will design, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods to ensure an effective overall Business/Quality Management System. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing compliance of design, manufacturing, and support processes with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution.

Your Challenge:

  • Defines and develops quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.

  • Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment, and finished products.

  • Performs analysis of reports and data to identify trends throughout the Business /Quality Management Systems and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary and drives the change through the organization with support from management.

  • Assures compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. DFAR, RoHS, REACH, AS9100D).

  • Prepares and provides product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.

  • Oversees Failure Review and Corrective Action Process.

  • Interfaces with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.

  • Participates in and may lead audits.

  • Carries out internal and supplier audits

  • Provides technical support to inspection personnel as needed.

  • Prepare and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.

  • Participate in Design and Phase gate reviews

Your Expertise:

  • Minimum 7 years in a quality engineering environment

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or Quality-related field

  • Internal lead auditor certification; LEAN/Six Sigma green belt certification is a plus

  • Knowledge of the APQP framework, SPC methodology is desired

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills;

  • Excellent organization, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • High customer and quality focus.
